"Some Kind of Wonderful," a song made famous by the world-renowned band Grand Funk Railroad has an interesting backstory. Based on a true story that goes into detail, it was originally written by John Ellison, a Black musician, songwriter, and lead singer of the group Soul Brothers Six, in 1967. The song didn't gain popularity until Grand Funk Railroad, an all-white band, released their version in 1975. This dynamic screenplay tells the story of John Ellison's struggles and experiences during the 1950s and 60s and who benefited from the popularity from this world renowned song.
